@HARMONICO101 I played the La Folia in SB6, all of those variations are Corelli's. Check them out on IMSLIP and you will see a match.

I know this arrangement and it's incredibly well done! And well played too. Bravo!

Pleasent Pictures.

Essa musica é maravilhosa, corelli sempre tem ótimas sonatas a nos oferecer !

Suzuki method does have an arguable worth to those with dyslexia; though I don't condone it personally, it had an apparent benefit to a dyslexic friend of mine.
-
Who plays the gamba on this recording?
-
Oh, my friend, Arcangelo...
-
Great Corelli!!!

That's because it's trying to highlight certain underlying techniques. Suzuki didn't make his method for listening, he made it for learning. I've taken his method since infancy right alongside RCM's syllabus, and I can tell you that learning scales by hearing them outlined in a piece is far superior to reading them on a piece of paper. That aside, thanks for the upload mate :)

What kind of viola da gamba is this (i.e. tenor, bass...)?
Oh please, don't mention Suzuki and the gamba in the same sentence unless you are talking about how horrible Suzuki is, and how he should NEVER attempt the gamba. I mean really, he already screwed up the harp and piano... He tried to flute. What else does he need to screw up now?

He also screwed up violin royally! Listen to the Suzuki version of Corelli's "La Folia". He cut out half of it and added in romantic style passages!

What exactly is the viola da gamba? I've always loved baroque music but never knew what that is. is it some special kind of viola? yeah, I'm ignorant. haha.

It's a member of the viol family of instruments. The viola da gamba is technically a bass viol. It is held between the legs like a cello, but it has 5-7 strings, a fretboard, and a bow that is held underhand. They viol family had their heyday in the Renaissance, but only the bass viol was popular in the later Baroque. The French were big fans.
On my channel, seach up Marais - Chaconne For Solo Viola da Gamba. There is a picture of the composer with the intrument across his lap.

Can't believe this is neglected. One of my favourite Corelli sonata. The second movement especially. Very interesting sound too.
