John Liu took the the oath of office today as city comptroller, making him the first Asian-American to hold a citywide office.
The longtime Queens councilman will oversee the city's finances and manage $80 billion dollars in pension funds.
Liu has chosen Eric Eve, a Citibank executive with strong political ties, as his top aide. Eve also served as an adviser to former President Bill Clinton, to Al Gore's 2000 presidential campaign, and to former state Controller Carl McCall.
Also joining Liu's team will be General Counsel Ricardo Elias Morales of the New York City Housing Authority, Deputy Controller for Audits Tina Kim of the Department of Transportation, and Deputy Controller for Public Finance Carol Kostik.
