Second Part. Based on the short story by Neil Gaiman, WE CAN GET THEM FOR YOU WHOLESALE is an official adaptation done by Vancouver-based writer and director Kody Zimmermann. WHOLESALE was shot in 2001, finished in 2002, but polished up in 2004.

Gwen Thorpe (Marin Patenaude) had everything going for her: a good job, a mild-mannered fiancé and a nice, uncomplicated life everything a young woman could ask for until she suspects her boyfriend of having an affair with the office tramp.

Jealousy, aided by a growing psychosis, forces Gwen into seeking out Mr. Kemble (Paul Jarrett) a salesman for an "extermination" company that promises to relieve Gwen of her competition. Things go awry when Kemble offers Gwen an unexpected bargain. A bargain that doesnt bode well for anyone connected to this seemingly innocent-eyed young lady.

The Filmmakers were happy to get "thumb's up" from Neil himself: http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2002/09/just-watched-lovely-we-can-get-them.asp

  • Now that's enough to put anyone off cheating.

  • Goodness, she could have been the queen of England. What a bad deal.

  • that is scary!

excellent job. i'm glad neil approves, it's one of my favourites, at least in terms of short stories.

  • Hey Great Job! I really like that you switched it to a story about Gwen... and the moment she looks out the window is perfect!

  • Nice work!
