I mean what everyone essentially was saying was that the Lakers had to win 3 titles in a row (4 finals in a row) or else be a bust for that year. The combination of fatigue (especially among key starters), hot shooting by the Mavericks and the flaw of the triangle in containing small and quick PGs soon made the series into a blowout.

Regardless you are talking about a team who has played 48 long playoff games for the last three years as well as four full NBA seasons.

@jiajen88 the lakers as a whole just aren't good anymore. kobe and bynum are still doing their thing but gasol doesn't do much now and metta world peace is just horrible. their bench is depleted, odom is gone and the lakers as a whole just aren't anything special anymore except for the fact that they are the lakers and they have kobe.
