This is hilarious.

@Maddiemoo246 Not really. You 'hung out with your friends' would be right. 'Hanged' is mostly used in official documents for describing an execution, though 'hanged' and 'hung' are technically interchageable.
-
He sound like Alan Rickman at the start. Uncanny.
-
"Hanged, yes" When he says that he really reminds me of Magneto from the X-men...
-
I hung out the washing while I hanged out with my friends. Hung is for objects, hanged is for people. Hope this helps.

First time I saw this episode, when I heard the words "just tell me what happened from the beginning," I honestly thought they had Alan Rickman as a guest star, since it was in silouhette and from a distance and you can't see his face. Didn't initially realise that it was Sherlock speaking. (This was before I'd heard Benedict's Rickman impression.)
Either way you look at it, though, his voice is amazing.

This is where David went in Friends (Minsk)... you know... that guy that nearly proposed to Pheobe...
-
Awesome!

Grammar Nazis....I love them! His voice is a plus too ;-)

@SmileAtMeAgain1 But it would be so totally deliciously worth it! ;-)

@ejeevika I'm a native speaker and they've always confused me, too! xD English is a silly language.

Actually, I do believe Sherlock's just trying to rile the guy up by correcting his grammar. Sort of to see if he's given to violent explosions if annoyed or angry and obviously he is. So I'd say this was Sherlock's way of verifying his theory and solving the 'case'. I mean you don't see him constantly correcting other people's grammar so it makes sense to say it's a specialty for the occasion/means to an end..?

@jamiependragon That's a really interesting theory! I hadn't thought of that. Although, it's hard to say for sure whether or not that's entirely what he was doing, because I think this is the only time we see him around someone with really bad grammar, isn't it?

I'm a bit curious as to why the English to German translation has received so much attention here. Yes, perhaps there was diversity in the translation -and why that is a big deal escapes me, quite honestly. Regardless, I like this scene. It's exciting.

@pavelthe2 I think because it sort of ruins the joke (in my opinion, anyway). It's not a grammar joke anymore, and therefore loses something.
