Guiding Light: Year In Review 1997

t's been over a year since I've done a year in review. I enjoyed doing the last one, 2004 so I thought I would do one that was years before. Pre 2000 I don't have many episodes of each of those years, but I was able to get a hold of some different episodes that gave me a wide range of 1997.
1997 was truly an awesome, exciting year for everyone on the show. Some would say it was the year of Annie. I loved Annie so maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much. It felt like each story would involve a variety of characters. 1997 was also the year that many favs came back like Harley & Jenna. Some came back for a shorts stint like Mike Bauer, Dylan, Hawk, Maureen, and Trish (to name a few). We said good-bye to Alan-Michael, Lucy, Bridgett, and a few other ones that were prominent for so many years. This was also Michael Zaslow's last year on the show. It was hard for me to re-watch some of the scenes because I could tell that his health was slowly deteriorating. There was only one Roger in my book, which is why you won't see any clips of the actor who took over the role.

I loved this year also. Guiding light was great!! I started to watch it around the Phillip/Harley time. LOVE THEM TOGETHER!! If you have some clips of them it would greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I think 1997 was one of the better years of GL. There wasn't one storyline that was dull. I think my favourite storylines during this period were the Reva/Cassie reunion, and Abigail's trial. Hard to believe that GL would be gone a little over a decade past that.

Um, happy to say many of them were included in this vid. I really liked the Harley and Jenna detective agency idea and "Caitlyn" infiltrating the mental ward; a lot of what Abby went through though I'm not sure if the hearing again happened this year or not. You know I loved the sting and even some of Nola's contributions when she was obsessed. I liked Grif vs. Ross and the Annie/Reva battles esp. after Alan got involved. Should I be more specific? Oh yeah-really liked the ball/lighthouse.

I love it! You really summed up the year nicely and it went well with the music! Do you have scenes from the mental ward with Annie/Harley? I'm not sure I've seen them online ever! Kudos to another great profile! 1997 was one heck of a year!

This is soo BAD!! I was smiling almost immediately. I am not sure the editing has ever been this tight either, not even for you. Oh hey it almost makes up for not having done a Spaulding profiler yet. I was going to bring that up, for having chosen the name u did I mean how about Alexandra, Amanda or Alan next time? Annie's so my girl and love the ball footage! Have to stop writing now so I can watch it again.
