You are correct - so long as you can see nose and two legs - they are best to take their time to drain fluid from the lungs etc. Mother is waiting for contractions. Sometimes with a large cria or if mother seems to be exhausted you can assist with towel and gently turn the cria slightly to help deliver shoulders.
