Part 1: Hope this helps. Paratroopers (airborne infantry) join the Parachute Regiment, 3 battalion (1, 2,3 Para), each denoted by a different coloured Drop Zone (DZ) flash. The qualifying courses are P Company (Pegasus) see youtube videos about such & then the jumps course, run the RAF. People can join the Royal Corp of Signals & apply to join 216 Parachute Signals Squadron later on in their career, but not straight out of basic/trade training. A good idea is at least 1+ year in a regular unit.

Part 4iof4: Then you hopefully get to serve at 16 Air Assault Brigade in Colchester (formerly 5 Airborne Brigade of Aldershot). Then, you get travel the world & people get to shoot at you ... so do you :) TARGETS WILL FALL WHEN HIT ... Good Luck (get on with it).
Part 3of4: Then you apply for All Arms P-Company (which Parachute Regiment officers also have to pass). Here any suitable volunteer in the military (RAF, Army, Navy) can in theory apply. When/if you pass the course (70% failure rate), pass the jumps course and SERVE at an Airborne unit, you can then wear the wings with pride & your MAROON BERET (not fking 'red').In the same way, any Engineer, Logistics, Medical bod can apply to serve via passing course above.

Good video lads. I think I even saw some comms kit at one point in the middle of it. hard to tell, as it was such a fleeting glimpse.
