  • i have been taking this very slow because i want to get flexible properly but my hips always end up hurting me, does this mean anyything or should i push through it?

    back off the pain and hold stretches longer, also warm up a bit more, drink lots of water to help prep the muscles for this so they let go more.

    its not age as much as your personal flexibility but I have taught ladies in their 40s to get splits.

  • This is the best video I have found for splits - thankyou!

    I am 32 and have to be able to do spluts for a dance group I am in. I have a loooooong way to go - infact I am super inflexible. I am going to do your stretch routine and let you know how a slightly older person goes!!

    I only have a month to do it but that is probably not realistic - I am sure there will be a dramatic difference though.

    Will keep you posted!

    depends on your body, for some a front split is easier for rare few the straddle are....

    everyone differs in their flex but being really warm and adding stretches won't hurt, although these are the base to get those muscles which help with splits.

    these can be done as a base but it does not hurt to be very warm and to do other stretches too but these are the base after your warm, it takes time and repetition, some get it faster than others we are not all built the same with flexibility.

  • Thanks, it was really instructive for the fron split. When I have a god stretch dy I can feel that "roll over" at the hips really, so I guess it's coming. But... I want to do the classic spagat (one leg forward, the other back) more, and I wish you could do a special video fro that one too. I can reach the ground with full palms and straight legs, but no way get down into a spagat and I have no clue what's wrong, so please!
