"Development of Life on Earth" by Paul Maurer.
Performed by The Airband 24 June 2009 at NYU as part of the Music Technology Advanced Computer Music Composition class concert.

The Airband performs this piece using hijacked wireless video game controllers, and new interfaces form musical expression designed by Langdon Crawford that control musical parameters using motion detection and trigger activation within Max/MSP. Three players control three sets of controllers: one for soundscape granular synthesis, one for manipulating drone sounds, and one for large-percussion playing. The events in the piece represent a skewed timeline of how life developed on Earth.
