  • question...is silat as deadly as they say it is??? ive heard a lot about it but couldnt find that much about it...

  • @fakirakos in my opinion every kind of martial arts will be deadly if it will be in real master's hands :)

  • @gchck There is a difference between Mauy thai and Salat fight styles, so you can't really call him a wannabe. And even if he was a wannabe, he's still good.

  • Yesterday I saw the 2nd film of iko uwais THE RAID REDEMPTION trailer..OMG impressive trailer..

  • @GoukisRage Don't mention it dude... ;)

Of course, it's important to know things that occurred in this world, especially something we didn't know about but feel curious...

  • I think Iko Uwais is definitely talented and a fresh new talent to martial art films. Reviews of his new one 'The Raid' point to the fact that it's voted to be the heaviest action flicks of recent times.

  • it's indonesian movie

    and i'm indonesian

    aku adalah orang indonesia

  • @fwesfrfsf I will! thanks for the info, learn something new everyday right?

  • @fakirakos It is deadly. Silat was originally developed as an instrument of war centuries ago with the purpose to kill your enemies or to disable them. The techniques consist of punches, kicks/flip kicks/drop kicks, take downs, throws, locks, and fatal blows to vital areas. Some variants of Silat use weapons like blade or Kris.

Today, many deadly techniques of Silat were removed so it could participate in sports competition and martial arts tournaments.

  • @GoukisRage Yeah, maybe it looks similar to Muay Thai or Shaolin but actually they're a total different styles. This is Pencak Silat, an ancient martial art from Indonesia. And the one which showed in the video is one of it's variant, Tiger Silat from Minangkabau, west Sumatra. For further information, look for Pencak Silat in Wikipedia.

  • hmm, i've never heard of this style. Seems like a mixture of muay thai, and various forms of shaolin. Either way it seems really unique

  • Can't wait for THE RAID iko...

  • i love you for the heroes of material arts videos :DD
