"Considering that Senator Obama voted to suspend the gas tax three times when gas cost less than $2 a gallon and has an energy lobbyist chairing his Indiana campaign, it's hard to take his latest criticisms very seriously."

ahh 3.59 a gal, those where the days

Yeah, thats why they pay their executives 300 million+ salaries a year?

Obama voted for gas-tax relief in his state senate and now he is against it when people need it the most? He says Hillary only has tricks and he is the only one with long-term plan.
Such lies, Hillery has better long-term energy plan than he does in addition to her short-term relief with the oil profits going to highway fund, preventing price gouging.
Obama is nothing but a lying politician who will saying anything to make himself look good, including calling his own grandmother a racist.

I can't help but notice that the pro- Obama and anti- tax holiday supporters that have commented here are not US citizens.

All their countries have horrible economies and make the US situation look good.
Why do you suppose they don't want a tax brak for Americans?
Shouldn't they be trying to fix their own screwed politics?

Oil companies charge according to their busines model, not the after tax on their goods. They make about 9 cents on the dollar which is a far less percentage than Mcdonalds or produce at the grocery store.

The gas tax holiday will save people far more than 28 dollars. The holiday gives a 22 cent break to truckers, who at the moment are hurting because of the increase in gas prices. It they don't get this break they will have to pass the increase on to the consumer. The price for everything will go up, especially food.
Also, if this break helps to prevent a full blown Recession then the tax revenues saved will be far more with the break.
Obama needs to rethink his position

Exactly. Not to mention theres no reason oil companies won't simply just raise prices 5% for those months. God, who buys into these garbage gimmick policies..

this video is retarded. what does a tax holiday from 2000 have to do with the prices of gas in 2008? answer: nothing! you know how much a tax holiday will save drivers? dicksquat! where do you think that lost revenue will come from??
Your video has no arguments worth the time it took to post them.
Obama has pointed out, as you conveniently failed to include, that the gas tax holiday would save you roughly $30 over the 3 month period and would stop supplying the fund to maintain roads and brides, which would also result in 7000 job losses.
Clinton's proposal would drain money away from the fund to develop alternative energy, which are ultimately what will bring gas down.
It's a gimmick designed to win an election.

Way to present both sides of the argument. There are good reasons not to suspend the gas tax for three months and many economists agree it would be a bad idea. People, please do your research before you jump to conclusions based on impulses. Just because an idea sounds good on the surface doesn't mean there aren't harsh implications underneath the surface. Like most things, this situation is more complicated than it looks. McCain and Clinton support this idea for political reasons.
