    Actually each cell has a voltage closer to 2.3 Volts giving the battery a total voltage of ~13.7 Volts. a ''12 Volt'' battery is really a misnomer.

  • @jeffordng wrong.. each lead cell has e.m.f. of 2V..

    a normal car battery as you see has 6 lead cells giving it 12V in total.. :)
