just take a piece of white posterboard and tape it to a table with one end on the surface and the other end to the wall. when you use a lamp it will illuminate the model easily showing as much detail as possible without shining it directly on it. its what i did for awhile. hope it helps
use natural light, wait till its nice and sunny outside.
i just use a black background for mine, if you are showing off unpainted metal minis it is a good idea to darken them up with a wash (or dirty paint water) so your camera can pick up in the detail.
Editing? What's edititing? My vids are pretty much what it is is what ya get...not a std. for anyone to shoot for ;) I know I've seen some vids on light boxes...if I can track down a link I will PM it to you...Jim.
daylight is your friend, but direct light is not! lol!
the better quality vids i post are mainly shot infront of a big window, in bright daylight but not with the sun beaming straight in, and that gets pretty good results.
if you want to build yourself a 'light box' though, a simple wooden frame with rice paper over it diffuses the light (from the 2 or 3 lamps you have pointing at it) pretty well.
