This is my home-made Boe bot gripper. The gripper is adapted on a robotic arm. This robotic arm use four mini servos (including the servo of the gripper) which are controlled by Parallax Servo Controller (#28023).

  • I used the Parallax servo controller.

  • Is it programmed to sense the location of the ball and pick it up... or is it programmed to just go to a certain point and grab the pingpong ball

  • @R0BLOXIAN Very smart Question!. Actually it is programmed just go to a certain point and grab the pingpong ball. But a new version of the robot (new software and hardware) that sense the location of the ball and pick it up is in the pipeline!!!

I ' ll upload a new video soon!

  • Hi, I would like to know do you have the programming codes. As I doing a project using boe bot gripper and IR. Now i want to add color sensor TCS3200DB, unfortunately I do not have the more example programming. Can you assist me. thx

  • @CJWSX Thank you for your comment! I didn't use any color sensor in this robot, but I have used the sensor color ColorPAL #28380 on my "Color sorter".

I will publish code and examples for this robot soon. However you can find code for this sensor on Parallax forum published by an expert named Phil Pilgrim

  • amazing. what supplies were needed. i have been planning 2 buy a boe-bot. what do i need to buld that? how much does it cost?

  • Thank you! You need four mini servos (GWS) pico servo from Parallax store (cost: 4x11.99$), one Parallax servo controller #28023 (cost: 39,99$). You also have to construct the aluminum parts (the cost for me was almost 10$, but it was a little bit difficult to cut and assemble the aluminum parts with accuracy). If you really interested in owning the gripper you can attend to Parallax. Ive already sent them the prototype and they can give you all the details that you need.

  • what is it you used to add more servo to the robot?

  • @crashpilot2 of course. the one issue i have found in hobby robotics is the limited applications possible. nice project anyway.

  • This is cool

  • @R0BLOXIAN was wondering the same thing

  • @63NY1 me to
