This is a piece I wrote that was inspired (not the best word to use in this case) by Aokigahara Forest in Japan. Aokigahara is the second most popular place to commit suicide in the world. The sign in the video reads something like "your parents have given you the gift of life and life is precious" and a number to call for help. Many tales and myths surround the forest. I do not own the pictures in this video here are the links to them:

  • if this is the second most place where people commit suicide wheres the first?

  • @HesDaryl The first most popular is the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

  • @juscallmeskip According to multiple sources, (this one being Wikipedia), "The four most popular locations in the world are reportedly San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, Toronto's Bloor Street Viaduct (before the construction of the Luminous Veil),[117] Japan's Aokigahara Forest and England's Beachy Head."

  • really wonderful

  • @fasterdisco thank you. Greatly appreciated. =]

  • This whole thing is so sad. To think that so many believe that this is the only way out of problem.. I don't criticize these individuals. They must be in such pain that they can't see any other way out and that's what's so sad about it all. We've got to combat the stigma of mental illness and depression. A little compassion can go a long way.

  • @elfbride Well said my friend.

  • A place of sadness and pain yes, but also a place of release and freedom.

To me, this is one of the most beautiful and truly thought-provoking places on Earth.
