  • 25% of all U.S exports are to Canada. And Canada export 60% to the U.S.

Buy american is stupid when it is applied to North America simply because our economies are so inter-dependant. and have been for so long. You buy resources form Canada, transform it and re-sell it to Canada and vice vers-ca.

I may understand with China since they seem to devaluate theire currency.

  • @gearheadrh --I agree

  • @GeorgeMozosko in a fair playing field it works. Competition is a good thing. Sure if we let the chinese leech off of us like we leeched off of the brittish it will make them strong. this isn't what should be taking place. having said that, we could use a little protectionism and some tarrifs at this time. not a long time, but for a few years.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork

You cannot help the actions of other nations. Unilateral free trade on America's part would bring immense prosperity, despite trade restrictions from other nations. Therefore this would show those nations that if they really want progress they must follow suit, and badabing badaboom you have no protectionism. FAIR has nothing to do with it. FREEDOM does.

  • im a republican myself! however this is a step in the correct direction on bettering OUR country and about time!! we need to think of ourselves for a while

  • capitalism has no boundaries. It always corrects itself, sometimes it just hurts. People's expectations are too high.

  • @Lukachicago19 not when the economy of that nation ultimately affects your business. capitalism has its boundaries.

  • @Lukachicago19 have you considered that some ceo's actually enjoy the work they do? Yea profit is great, but sometimes you can't be the best in a field unless you absolutely love what you do.
