The joke is pointed at Kevin Rudd because he speaks fluent Mandarin (type of Chinese language) with his Chinese counterparts so they were saying he was talking "black people" with Obama. While the joke may have been seen as racist, I personally disagree it was a blatant stereotype of African-Americans but at the same time you can't assume that all Australian's hat black people. We can be very racist and from what I hear it's no more than the people from the south of U.S.A.

@morjan11 thank you I am fully aware of that fact as I actually saw this at the time it was originally aired. The point is no less valid because its origin is a comedy show.

@horusrage They aren't reporters lol. This is a satire comedy with a comedian dressed up as our old PM. The reporters are actors following a script just like the one dressed up as PM mate.
