@gera1690 Hi, thanks. It takes a wee bit of practice to get that alternating bass going, once used to it you can knock out some wicked tunes, almost limitless what you can play too.
Hey thanks for that! Well spotted too, one of the very first tunes I learned to play was John Henry on the 5 string banjo in d tuning!!! I took the same approach for this tune.
Very nice I like how you alternate the basses and play high stuff sounds really good

The constant low D with thumb is great. I hear bits of "Vastapol" and "John Henry" in there. Very traditional uses of open-D.
