Nightwish is one of the most overrated band! they are famous and so everyone know their existense but this is not a valid reason for me to put them in my top 5!

I don't care if a band is more famous than other to make a list.Nightwish, rhapsody ( another overrated band), angra and similar band are too power metal for my taste, within temptation has too much a pop feeling. there are too symphonic metal bands out there to put all in one video so i have decided to insert only my favorite, ok?

@SymphonyOfSword2Swan because people have the possibility to evaluate only the band they know. If nightwish is kwowed from 75% of the people and these same people meet few other bands over them these persons pretend to see them in this video without having a complete view of the movement " symphonic metal". Obiously, the more famous band has a major probability to be meet by someone and , therefore, to be rated by him and to form they top five. This is true for every person, for me too.

@SymphonyOfSword2Swan so this isn't a guilt, but it's only a statistical fact. For this reasons i invite people to understand my view without leave unuseful comment and dislike button for the only reason that the most know band ( with symphonic element) do not appear in this video. It is a consequence of my evaluation and my knowledge, not of yours!

@setasan I disagree. Personally, I think Epica is supreme, but all other bands here are amazing, dont get me wrong.

@MrDylanGaillard That's exactly what I've been talking about. Bieber is overrated - he's done nothing for his genre, for the music, etc, he hasn't inspired anyone to reinvent the genre and create new music. Nightwish on the other hand have, ever since their first albums. That's why I can't agree to consider them overrated. :)

I think Epica sucks a lot hahaha after forever is 100000x better so nightwish or tristania

@Firewalkerbg Over rated doesn't mean popular, over rated means that VEN if they're good, they have a bigger name than they should have, I love Nightwish, dont get me wrong, but I admit that they have more fame, or rating than skill. God forgive me but take Justin Beiber, he's as famous as heck, but he isn´t all that good, he is VERY VERY over rated as well

@MrDylanGaillard I don't think they are "over"-rated. They are rated according to the impact they've had on contemporary music, including at least two of the bands in that list. You can't call a band overrated just because their music is better known than the music of bands that have been inspired by it. Otherwise you can call Bach and Vivaldi overrated as well, since a big chunk of the contemporary music is based on their work ;)

@MrDylanGaillard lol well maybe to some people in some places but in Finland they are not. Everyone, including the finnish prime minister called themselves a nightwish fan. Hell, during the new year celebrations in finland, they played bits of the new nightwish album out loud while watching the fireworks. They are just popular.
