Known to some as the "The Homeless Hair Cowboy," "Picasso of Hair," or "Genius with Scissors," Kanu Saul has been hustling haircuts on the sidewalks and alleyways of Los Angeles for over 10 years. In "Hair Cowboy," we try to track down and get a cut from the elusive guerrilla hairdresser.

P.S.: My cousin has a perfect grasp on reality contrary to the comment made by the trailer guy. Being raised in a different culture (Zimbabwe, Africa) does not make him crazy.

@NpyIllusionistHstn Thank you for defending Kanu. BTW, the number is current. This is my cousin and I just got off the phone with him.

Kanu used to visit me when we were little and I lived at Grand Concourse in the Bronx. I haven't seen his face since 1991 when he came to my brother's funeral. It was nice seeing him again.

He's not flakey like the people in the video claim, nor is he homeless anymore.

To those worried about the cleanliness of the comb, bring your own.

I saw this Pro do a haircut for a lady outside my building , It's a good deal the haircut is professional

FAIL

Saul approached me on the street - I was skeptical, but after I watched this video I called & made an appointment - I came to him with a full head of washed hair & an open mind.

The cut took over 2 hours, & the whole time he said things like "hmmm, I don't know". When he finished there were random patches of hair cut too short so that it stood on end against conflicting cowlicks, uneven sideburns and random shag at my neckline.

Still looks bad 2 weeks later. Cost: $40, 2 hours -- FAIL.
