Great Actor. I had a uncle that look just like him. When I was small I use to think my uncle was Robert Mitchum. RIP! Robert.

someone who had terrific outer masculine beauty, but still could impart this sense that tremendous danger was lurking right behind that enigmatic grin and confident swagger.

Robert Mitchum was one of the greats. He was scarier than Freddy Kruger in Night of the Hunter and Cape Fear, but could be tender too. His name belongs with Gregory Peck, William Holden, Anthony Quinn, James Stewart and John Wayne.

No one could play a tough guy better. Today's actors don't have that same intensity with the exception of Russell Crowe.

He was interviewed by Dick Cavett. Mitchum was amazing. He had it all. He had depth, intelligence, and humor. He was honest in his work.
