So I have decided that the next episode will be the finale (even though I don't want it to end). I start school this coming Tuesday, and it's my senior year, so I really wanna do well. I still be posting stories, but most likely one-shots.
I'm sad...

"Yes." I nodded suspiciously. "Courtney's my sister."
"But... you don't have the same last name." Nina persisted.
"Our parents divorced." Courtney reasoned. "I took my mother's name, while Lena stayed with our dad's."
All Nina could do was laugh uncomfortably in her place. Her eyes couldn't focus on an area for more than two seconds. It was odd, very strange behavior. How could I not notice?
"Nina, are you feeling alright?" I asked, placing my hand on her arm with concern.
"Er, yeah!" she nodded fervently. "Do you think I can have something to drink?"
"Sure. Is water fine?" I asked, already heading toward the kitchen.
"Yeah, yeah." she muttered distantly.
"You're in deep shit." Courtney said smugly, crossing her arms and shaking her head.
"You tricked me!" Nina indicted.
"Hey, I had no idea that you, my sister's so-called best friend, was a backstabbing bitch." Courtney said sternly.
Nina gasped, stepping backward. "Did you tell her?! I swear, if you did, I will kick your ass." she shook her head.
Courtney scoffed. "That's not gonna happen. It's your ass that's gonna be kicked." she said affirmatively, plastering a fake smile onto her face.
"Look." Nina glared at her. "I won't even be in town on the wedding day, so you won't be able to find me." she smirked. "It's a good thing though. I won't have to see your sister look hideous in her gown."
"Wh-what?" I said, stopping suddenly in my tracks, spilling ice water onto the hardwood floors.
"Oh my gosh." Nina reacted to my presence. "You didn't tell her?!" she said, looking frantically at Courtney.
"She didn't believe me." she shrugged. "She said you would 'never' do anything like that to her."
"Courtney, you were telling the truth?" I whispered, still in shock.
I stood there, in the middle of a puddle of water, staring at the two women before me. One of them, I was related to by blood. I barely knew her, yet I despised her. The other, I was best friends with for years. I put all my trust in her. But now, the variables had changed. Everything was suddenly turned upside down.
"You bitch." I muttered absentmindedly.
"What?!" Courtney shouted, throwing her hands into the air. "Lena, I was telling you the truth!"
I lifted my head and met her eyes. "I know." I simply said. "I was talking to her." I said, shifting my gaze upon Nina.
Her jaw was dropped, and her eyes were wide with anxiety. It looked as if she were about to run out the door any second.
"How dare you." I said with a low voice. "I trusted you. I relied on you." I shook my head.
"I..."
"Get the fuck out of my apartment." I said fiercely, pointing toward the door.
As we heard the frame slam shut, I backed up and plopped onto the couch. Tears had already formed, racing down my pink cheeks. I lowered my head, hiding my vulnerability. Then I felt Courtney's presence in front of me. She had bent down and placed her hands on mine. I slowly looked up at her with my red eyes and quivering lips.
Then something unexpected happened. We hugged for the first time in eight years.

@Msalbel Well I live in Hawaii, so I guess it works differently. Public schools here are already in school, but I go to a private one, so I have a little more time :)
