Putting aside that he misspelled "speEchless". That black men have "taken back" the word "Nigga" in order to "make it their own" is NOT the fault of white people. That is a failing within the black community itself. Slave auctions were rarely conducted as far north as New York City. The walls were to keep the mud of the cattle street from getting on the rich bankers clothes. If you don't like the word "nigga" tell black actors and comedians to stop using it. @KrazyShrink But that doesn't change the fact that the word faggot originated from hatred for gays. Using it to call someone an asshole only makes it that much worse. It implies a hatred for gays. It implies that all gay people are also assholes, simply by association of the word. If someone's an asshole, call them an asshole. To test how much of an effect these words can and always will have, go up to a black person (assuming you aren't black) and use a racial slur on them. See how they react.

@Kckeller But they're never gonna stop. There will always be people who use them hatefully, and if we make them taboo that'll just give them more power.

My theory is we should use them enough that they lose their hateful connotation. Don't call someone a faggot for being gay, call them a faggot for being an asshole. Then when the racists and bigots try to use them as weapons they'll fall flat.

It is interesting that people will separate themselves, and complain when they are treated as such. For example, blacks only allowing other blacks call them nigga. That right then creates a social wall saying I am different from anyone that is not black. Don't be surprised when you are then treated like you are different. Cause humans self-favor, the different you will be treated will be lower then themselves. The cure is not to put up these social walls and come as you are, for all people.
