Im currently doing madcow 5X5 (bill star) the intermidate routine. my BW is about 155 im weak at squats so i took that routine. my bench is around 275x5 and deadlift 350x5 so far it has been working good. how strong do you approximetly need to be to start the routine you're using?

@xXHomerBushXx thing is in the long runthe belt well take controlw of a muscle that could of been developed with out the belt, the invention has good intention but with a bad outcome

@justinp766 You clearly don't have a clue what a Romanian deadlift is... An RDL is done from the lockout position, and then the weight is lowered a certain distance (depending on the lifter's flexibility and strength) while maintaining as neutral of a back--or even a slight arch--as possible, and then using the stretch reflex to rebound the weight out of the hole. TL;DR What are you talking about brosif?

@xXHomerBushXx true, they are made to protect and give support. So yes, there is a time and place to use them. However, just do not use them all the time for your body will start to depend on them too much. You have to fine the right balance of when and when not to use them

i never understood ppl making a comment about weight lifting belts, knee wraps, wrist wraps. they were invented to help the modern man lift more weight without getting injured!
