Trying to decide whether I want the Troy brake or the Noveske Flash Suppressor.

ETA: I determined that the Noveske Pig allowed more muzzle rise than I really wanted. Rifle has existed with the Troy Brake on the muzzle since the day these videos were shot. Poor Pig, spends all its time in the gun safe without a rifle to adorn.

  • And you're an asshole...

  • sssoooo...which one did u go with?? I just put a kx3 on my Noveske 10.5" barrel, I love it, it's great for cqb operations.

  • @stangr07 Note the ETA up top. I went with the Troy. The Pig had WAAAAAY too much muzzle rise compared to the Troy.

  • oooohhhh me like. What's it like shooting the KX3 on that barrel length? Is it just like shooting a 16" barrel? I like sbr's but having to wear double ear protection just isn't my thing.

  • @sheepcampwarrior Honestly, because the blast is more forward (obviously, but it doesn't slam the blast back towards the shooter as well) I end up only wearing plugs and no muffs. I can't get a good cheek weld with muffs and believe me, I'm FANATICAL about protecting my hearing!

Ultimately, we noticed that there was ALOT of barrel rise with the Pig, and not much else gained over the Troy Brake. Granted, if one wants suppression, get a suppressor (we run an ACC Cyclone-K on the 300 Whisper)

  • what length barrel and handguard please?

  • 10.5" Noveske Barrel.

    9.0 LaRue Handguard

  • The kx3 is not a muzzle brake. Its main purpose is to hide the flash and direct the muzzle blast foward away from the shooter. The muzzle brake might help recoil a bit but directs the sound to the sides and back toards the shooter making it unconfertable for other people as well as the shooter.

  • NFA approval for SBR's is a federal law, not state. Everyone has to pay the tax to own any rifle shorter than 16". The states can further restrict anything they want though, which sucks... which is why I have an AR pistol

  • Still got the pig after all this time? If so, i will buy.

  • Does it help with felt recoil at all? I'm thinking of installing this on my wife's future mosin nagant that may be chopped down the 16.25".

  • You wouldn't have the muzzle rise problem with the KX3 if you had a proper stance and kept the buttstock in the center of your chest, rather than your shoulder. Try that and you'll see a significant drop in recoil and muzzle rise, and a noticeable increase in control and sight picture recovery, leading to more accurate and faster follow up shots. 5.56 mm doesn't need a muzzle brake, I leave those to weapons with larger caliber than 7.62.

  • go girl...

  • You suck

  • @sidhepro you gotta understand the design philosophy of the pig. It was meant to change the direction of the concussive force away from friendlies especially in CQB situations where that brake will distract and endanger your fellow mates. The pig redirects that force forward to targets making it the more aggressive brake.

  • @stangr07 You have many terrorists you need to shoot at in CQB?

  • The good thing about an ar pistol is that when shit hits the fan, you just put a stock on it.

  • where can you buy one of these?
