oh sta a passà n'areoplano in mezzo a noi!

Two aircraft flying opposite direction at same flight level in a two-way airway?? Or the commercial was at wrong FL, or the fighter was, or........(many things). Only a investigation to say what happened (many ATC facilities, coordenation, miss understanding,.....etc).

Near: adv, close; to a point or place not far away
Near Miss means they were very close, but missed. Why can't people grasp this?

Pilot caught on pretty late there, huh.

I'd call that a "Near Collision" but it was definitely a "miss."

See and avoid, it's everyone's responsibility.

well....no

@sebatianize In VMC it is a pilot's responsibility to remain well clear of conflicting traffic. The controller, at most, shares responsibility for deconfliction. It doesn't matter if this pilot was under IFR; if the weather allows him to see other jets, he is responsible for clearing for them and avoiding them.

well then you could know that on a collision course you have no line of sight. the hud vid never coincides with the FOV of the pilot. is there a canopy bow which could possibly mask the airliner? all the talking between a controller and the pilot could mean that he is flying under IFR. so the whole deconfliction responsibility would be with ATC. it could also be that because of that the pilot might be doing other things than looking outside 24/7.
but thanks for your advice
