As far as I am aware, Whateley was the only commentator on the day to actually call the toepoke in play. On the DVD with all the commentary tracks, none of the other commentators specify or describe a toe poke. I know it is a fairly minor point, but I think that it attests to the quality of the commentator. I think he is the most accurate commentator and a very perceptive and rational sports journalist as well.

Absolutely fantastic this vid-"you've never seen anything like it." Whateley is such a great commentator, he gets so excited but not over the top and stupid like Rex Hunt, Brian Taylor or James Brawshaw, or irritating like Bruce McAvaney.

@borgia163 i was really anti geelong back when i sounded hateful, i don't mind Geelong at all. I miss Brisbane of 2001-2004 because you don't get to see domination very often in AFL. If the Grand Final this year is Geelong v Collingwood, I will be on Geelongs band wagon. If it's dogs/saints v Geelong then i won't be. Simple as that.
