Being a consumer oriented & selfish species, most humans only pretend to love others as well. It's how they finagle what they can get from others. The number of sociopaths is now more than 1 in 10 & growing.
If they can perfect robots, having one for a companion might not be a bad idea. They may be more reliable "friends".
By the way, we all live in countries which are really "human farms", a type of "zoo".
Can it be deactivated with a sonic screwdriver? Or, will it require something altogether more sonic from Captain Jack Harkness's Torchwood alien tech collection?
