isnt the minor scale the same as the aeolian scale

@HiaPirate depends on what you want to progress to if you want to use an alternate fingering you by all means can. in fact it would be good, in my opinion, when you practice to try many things to help you progress. whatever fells comfortable and natural. keep in mind to learn what this man is teaching you and then apply what i said previously. keep playin bro

IMO it's much easier to just learn the finger pattern of the scale(the Am scale for EX, as shown in the video) and implement it on whichever note it is you want to start from.
btw, when I said "easier" I meant that it works better for me. some people find the whole/half thing to work better for them.

does anybody know if the finger positioning is that important? Like if I learn it differently to how he says should that matter?

@DennChooch yep ik weet t maar tis zoon standaard amerikaanse grapxD
maar dat eronder is wel truexD
why is it that in every scale tutorial whether it be for guitar or piano, the instructor NEVER goes over the scale's formula. this makes it a lot easier to understand. btw the formula for the minor scale beginning on ANY note is: start, w (whole step), h (half step), w, w, h, w, w.
