@GREENPOWERSCIENCE never thought of that coming from a damn flashlight! Photons is something , aint ?? Hey, I was wondering about the abillity to transport hot desert sunlight over fiber opitics to ski resorts where you got fiber optic powered furnace to keep warm without any need for firewood that pollute the nice mountain air you alwasy crave to breath only to be interrupted by lingering smoke !! cough cough... anyway I wonder if fiberoptics is tough enough ???

@junkyardnut naw, unfortunately, I'm not 100% solar egghead. I'm more like you, a Nuclear egghead. But given your area, you could very well be a coal-egghead lol.

It is possible to heat the pool water?
-
@Evi1M4chine we really have very little uses for parabolics.. Flat mirrors will do as long as you multiply them at different slight angles toward one target where you can collect them all for heating air to heat your indoors. Why we dont have them yet... ????

Hi,
They will work but only about 40% of this.

How does the intensity of the energy change as you move closer to the focal point? I'm guessing it's fairly rapid and sudden if you can put your hand so close to the same point that lit a stick on fire. In other words, as you move your hand along a straight path that crosses the focal point, when will you experience intolerable pain?

Yes, This mirror can melt black plastic at night concentrating light by a high intensity flashlight that is 30 feet away. It actually starts to burn.
