Arlen Roth is THE MAN, in my humble opinion.
I had the honor of meeting him in the late seventies. I traveled to New York to take a week's worth of lessons from him. He treated me so well and was to giving of his knowledge. I saw him again in Los Angeles and again was just taken by his awesome talent, great spirit, and just downright goodness. My wife and I were just heartbroken at his tragedy. I love the guy.

Gatton, Buchanan, Roth, Collins..... makes you wonder why the electric guitar had to go beyond the telecaster (although I play a strat style guitar myself). this is about as good as it gets- taste, tone, timing. Holy mother of pearl.

The hot licks dvd series is the best guitar lesson dvds out there, my favourite are the Danny Gatton ones. and the Warren Haynes one is great for blues rock

I've given shit tons of money to Arlen over the years for his Hot Licks videos.
My whole life I've usually not received the value of my money. Arlen was an unusual exception.
I got LOTS of value with those vids.
Im still planning on buying them all.

Arlen's a really great guitarist - I took lessoons with him in the mid-70's. He's definitely the biggest influence on my style - he has the only electric guitar I have ever played that "played itsel" - you know, when it feels and sounds like butter and you can't play a bad note - I think it's a 51 Blond Tele - looks just like this one. Arlen had an unbelieveable tragedy occur - I won't go into it - I can't imagine it happening. He did not deserve what happened, to say the least.

Thanks. I have a Z28 on the way - this clip makes me even more excited. I just bought Arlen's new album based purely on this clip. The demos sounded great, and I can't wait to get into the album.

Check out his instrumental version of "Unchained Melody" on his new CD. It's AMAZING!!!
