  • I wouldnt mind being thrown around by this girl

  • "this would never work on the street", blah blah. As a martial artist for over 30 years, I will say that the obvious outward techniques you see are not Aikido. It's the distilled understanding of the principles. Just as in MMA, you have to have the ability to read the opponent. So many people train so called "more effective" martial arts, but it seems that those who diss on other arts the loudest on YouTube do not have extensive experience in the ring or thin experience on the street.

  • kotagaeshi ftw

  • @beefcake3131... And pinching nipple? Wow, really? That would just piss us women off. Lol! As a Kajukenbo stylist I do agree with you, a combo of grappling, boxing skills, elbows, knees, and good old grit is what will save our asses. But many join different arts for different reasons... Not all are keen on thumbing to the eye, snapping an arm or elbowing to the face. Some get into traditional arts solely for the tradition. To each their own, I guess. :)

  • @beefcake3131 hi beefcake, you're the first who I've seen has responded that has extensive experience in the ring, so it's refreshing to see your response. Call me jaded, but it seems like a lot of people that diss on martial arts are either under 20 years old and have stereotypes or have very little or no experience in ring orvstreet. people join arts for different reasons and not all people are interested in snapping an arm or thumbing someone in the eye. To each their own, I guess.

  • Please run to me and give me your hands..and you will see what I can do.

  • @DoggyZworlD07 Ok, but! There is a but, the techniques in Kata are adapted to a fight witch we call "Kumite" so, Kata is the source of Kumite, the source of the fight, and....do not call me "man" please a little respect, and yes another thing i see, Aikido practitionars have almost no respect for Karate. You think Aikido is better then Karate, dont you?Well we, Karatekas challenge you Aikidokas on the tatami.

    OSU.

  • @beefcake3131 I'd agree with bjj cos a fight can go to tha floor, and muay thai for its stance and striking. But forget wrestling, thats what tha bjj is for and boxing is not an effective way of striking, movements are to stiff to bring out your true body power using body mechanics. If u want full on proper good striking arts, i'd look into kenpo karate or tea kwon do I.T.F... Aikido is not garbage if u train properly at it, jus like with any style, each have their advantages and disadvantages.

  • @pampermanneke man u will never use a kata in a fight....kata's only good to maintain practice on moves is all....

  • @rustydj I do, I fought professionally and still think aikido is garbage. Effective styles are a blend of BJJ, wrestling, muay thai, and boxing.I haven't trained in a few years and am out of shape, but I would still be willing to bet I could wreck these aikido masters in less than a minute. My uncle trained it and his masters advice on how to stop a takedown was to grab the guys nipples.I swear that is true. While hes giving me a purple nurple I'm busy elbowing or punching his dumb ass face in

  • Wow, i really prefer Karate, i think Aikido has no pasion, in Karate, especcialy "Kata" you need much practice to become perfect. That is my opinion. OSU

  • I'm guessing that the iconic element of Aikido is wind?
