Beginning shows the smooth shifting resulting from a transmission fluid change, the end is a ~20-70 MPH Run.

  • Mine was never too terrible, but it was shifting a little rougher than it should have been. I did three drain and fills of the transmission fluid. The old fluid was almost black, so I'm assuming it was never changed. I have 112K on this now.

One other thing the previous owner overlooked was the air cleaner. It didn't look too bad, but I replaced it anyway and there was a significant improvement in power. I think the old one was probably suffocating it. For an Outback, it has some guts!

  • i have a 2004 h6 vdc sedan that shifts like garbage... it only has 75k miles on it, but very harsh shifting. Was yours the same?
