@vajraloka1 Yes, you could be right. As the years go by in my own sadhana I realize more and more that I don't know anything! My mind is usually just seeking confirmation of its own bias!

@Lehmann108 THANK U LEHMANN' could it be that these brilliant guru's simply DO have a shadow side?? see waking down with saniel bonder, i prob be deleted
for speaking up but hope you get this. "baby with the bathwater"

yes, i do believe you are right. all of my completely naive egoic projections had nothing to do with HIS real nature. I saw things I didn't like, but looking back now, I realize none of them were anything but his profound love and genius at work.

There is a proper time and place for everything. The world we live in now is vastly different than when this movie was made. The world is vastly different even than it was 10 years ago. Think about it. Before 911, Enron, W, before the endless wars! It's not even remotely the same world. Reality is speeding up and spiraling in ever faster as we approach the crucible and the final hour. So hang on.
When Delphiyes acknowledges that his shadow prevented him from seeing Him, this is his own Self that was obscured, not some hallucinated hope of who another (Jones, Bubba, Da) might be. Delphiyes is NOT suggesting that He is separated from from some kind of True Self..no...or that he stood closer to somebody else's true self. No, this is not the teaching. He is only. There was nobody ever out there being a genius. Sure a mechanism acted, but only the Self already ever was. This is who HE is.

I have often said that one of the ways I understood the utter divinity of Adi Da was that when I was in His Company, there was Only God. Not that he was God (well, yes that too), but there was ONLY GOD, everywhere, as everything and everyone.

How do you devotees deal with the shadow side? I've always found him to be brilliant, but, man, what a dysfunctional shadow!

I spent over 30 years as His student....at times I was front and center and burned alive. Like everyone, I found Him to be all the bad things people claimed, but allowed the fire to burn pure until I saw His purity and was profoundly liberated. Then I fell on my knees in eternal gratitude. The "shadow" I had seen was my own projection. His ruthlessness was actually gracious and powerful SERVICE. But this should not be believed. Only known.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I've had this too with another guru. A divine paradox, but only from the side of the ego. And as you say, "only known" because it is outside the mind.

Yes. As He well said, "What I do is not the way that I am, but the Way that I Teach."
