Aloha! The WWOOFing gang (Iris, Mike, Felipe & I) went to the stunning & sacred Waipio Valley over the weekend! We had an incredible time camping, hiking, body surfing, playing in waterfalls, sculpting mermaid fins out of sand... lol, and soaking up all that majestic energy! Seriously, the energy here feels SOOOO GOOD! It almost feels unreal... and completely time-less... bringing you into the NOW- I LOVE IT!!! If you're ever on the Big Island of Hawaii, Waipio Valley is a must see for sure!!! :)

Much mahalo,

Leija

ps. If you're not sure what a WWOOFer is, check out this website- http://www.wwoof.org/

WWOOFing is a fantastic way to explore an exotic, new place, the perfect opportunity to learn more about sustainable living & organic farming & a ridiculous amount of fun! I highly recommend it! :)

  • leija, do you wear sunblock? If so, what kind?

  • @RawFoodVeganSungazer Sometimes, only because I'm very fair skinned. The brand varies, but it's always as natural and organic as possible. :)

  • WOW!!!....That is amazingly beautiful. You guys are so lucky. Thank you so much for sharing......Tell your boy, his good friend "1ShaolinStyle" said whats up : )

  • @RawFoodMuscle Haha will do! :)

  • can i ask u a very serious question? is there a public loo there or is it the "wild" that "becomes" a loo?

  • @kaoritubes There are a few outhouses in one area, but not where we were camping, so in the "wild" we went! :P

  • I was a WOOFer in Hawai'i! And I got to stay in Waipio Valley overnight. Even went prawn spearing in the mouth of the river...I wasn't good at it. Good times though. Even got to help plant some taro.

  • Ha i live like right around there

  • it would be so cool to own land there

  • nothing like it. i was here 40+ years ago, spent nights, walked the z-trail to waimanu (when there was no trail to speak of), years later drove a wwII jeep down the road from the hale and later rode it in a land rover. long before waterworld, long before developers set their sights on it. live it, love it, keep it with you for all time.

greetings to all and blessing on all who come here.

  • the best video i ever saw here on youtube! so much beauty! the sun and the beach and the nature just woow

  • So beautiful and peaceful.

  • modern day hippies, he got some weed in his bag?

  • wow, thats awesome. im also looking forward to go woofing in hawaii, but im not sure if im able to, because im from germany and i already know that its almost impossible to get a work visa :(

but right now i would like just like to jump into a plane and start^^

  • Woa! I recognized that place instantly. My little sister was there and sent me pictures.

  • Aaaaha in the early 70's no more pavement on the road , I used to take my 4wheel rover down after work and pull dummys out of the river as the tide came up! Was spoiled in those days , Hapuna was next closest beach 30 miles one way from Haina !
