Also, from an investors point of view, Rupert Murdoch bought Myspace for $580 million and sold 95% of it for $35 million. So, definitely a flop in terms of investment.

@Kevin-that is a valid point. Originally, I had the title as "Why Myspace Failed and Facebook Won't" but that didn't seem fair considering MySpace still has millions of users. So I went with "flopped" because it lost so much market share to Facebook and has failed to reach the scale of Facebook. Thanks for the imput!

myspace flopped because Murdoch lacks vision. He did not create it he bought it.
