I like opportunities to improve my skills as a cinematographer and as an editor, so I took the family out to this creepy location to shoot "Safe House". My oldest son starred in the film and did a great job. Lot's of help from my wife, 4-year, old and 3-year old.

I shot it with a Sony PMW-EX1 with a Letus Ultimate adapter. I used all Nikon glass: 24mm f2.8, 35mm f2.0, and an 80-200 f2.8. I used Redrock Micro rail system for support with RR follow focus. All natural light.

The short was edited and graded with Sony Vegas Pro 9 and Magic Bullet Looks.

My friend Lydia Ashton scored the short film. She does great work and did a great job on "Safe House". She is fast, creative, and pleasant to work with. Check out more of her work at LydiaLAshton.com.
