Wallerawang residents used to Bronwyn Theobold speeding around Wallerawang's narrow streets were not suprised when she lost control in a 50km/h zone and ploughed into a school mini-bus carrying two students.
Witnesses reported that Theobold got out of her car and started picking up crash debris from neighbouring yards and throwing it back onto the road without checking on the welfare of the bus driver (who was trapped and injured) or the two children who were distressed and in shock.
Theobold claimed to police that the bus driver was in the wrong and that she was only doing 20 km/h despite evidence showing clearly that she had crossed to the wrong side of the road.
This happened at 8.15am on a school morning and had a child on a bike or walking been in the wrong place a tragedy could have occurred.
