@12harby Light???? He is a heldentenor! (doesn't show that much in this recording, but he now sings Siegmunds, Lohengrins and Parsifals, along with a few Florestans).
Click to visit the London Symphony Orchestra’s channel and watch Simon O’Neill tell the synopsis of Verdi’s Otello for his new recording singing the title role alongside Gerald Finley and Anne Schwanewilms.
Wow! I saw him about 12 or so years ago in Auckland, New Zealand, in a play about Maria Callas. This was before he headed overseas on a scholarship. When he opened his mouth and began to belt out a song in that theatre, it really blew me away. I am glad to see that his career really seems to have taken off. I loved his voice then, and I still think it sounds great. Well done, Simon.

He's coming to sing Lohengrin with Houston Grand Opera this coming season. I can't wait. I heard him sing Sigmund in the London Ring. He was grand!
