If I understood correctly, Joan Baez introduced this medley by saying she hadn't performed it in over thirty years. Red Butte Garden, Salt Lake City, July 7, 2010
@martamima Libba Cotton did Freight Train and What a Friend We Have In Jesus (written in my home town of Port Hope by Joseph Scriven) on her first record called Negro Folk Songs and Tunes. It has been re-released on CD and retitled Folk Songs And Tunes From North Carolina.
Love this video, medley is all in elisabeth cotten freight train mode, looks like sweet Joan has found the peace she has been fighting for, for so long... John Doyle is great too.
Fantastic!
