i heard that they originally do sting, but the non existing predator in the lake causes them to lose that ability..they evolved into a stingless jellyfish and uses their tentacles instead to find food..

omg it is such an amazing experience to swim with the jellyfishes... and growing up in Palau its one of my fave childhood memories ... I miss it :(
