After watching this, i have no doubts about one thing: Ravel composed this Bolero thinking about the possibility of Jorge Donn would dance it.

Do you know about Maracatu of Pernambuco - Brazil? It's very similar...

thank you :)

that is the final scene of the film "les uns et les autres" by Claude Lelouch, very moving and deep film.. and in the film he was playing Nureyev,(even if the character was not identified) and I believe he was very restricted because of camera angle issues..

This is the end of the film "les unes et les autres" , and the dancer is Jorge Donn.
Nureyev sadly never danced Bolero
-
I think this is Jorge Donn actually, not Nureyev...

Nureyev did dance this.

TO understand a little bit better you have to watch "les uns et les autres" a french film from the year 1981. The filmmmaker Claude Lelouch want to explain, that the live of the kids is more or less the live of the parents. a veru intresting idea.

sometimes we aren''t aware of what's behind the choreography, so it's difficult to understand it.
Somewhere I read that this was a legend (story) about a spiritual ritual, hope someone can explain it to us better
