I'd say, it was punk when only a few people knew about said bands. But this is made to sell...And the female vocalist is attractive and has obvious plans for a solo career. When something/someone has an overly obvious market strategy(:and it's not entertaining), then the fabric of the concept breaks down. Although, I have heard very good music I would consider punk that had a very intelligent market strategy..just not completely evil and merchandising-based profit dreams

Punk is the only genre where I always hear people arguing about what's "real punk" and what's not. Such arguments most likely come from a bunch of sheltered Suburban kids trying to break out and rebel, but are afraid they're doing it wrong.
