I've been told that if you're really quiet you can actually hear the valve make a soft clicking noise when your heart beats. I watched a live heart valve replacement done before and it was really fascinating.

The transparent tubing is for drainage, the tubing comes out below your sternum When it gets removed it feels pretty funny. You are awake and the nurse just grabs a hold and pulls, then picks the scab twice a day.

My gf has a valve problem and she is always coughing and having chest pains any way she can get a vavle surgery that can help extend life, and stop the pains ? and permanite valves ? Help ! message me back plz

Amazing, is the name mitroflow bioprosthetic valve a reflaction of Dr Starrs' work? I would assume it is because his design was originally for bicuspid replacement and this surgery is replacement of aortic semilunar.

@Niceboy3377 No, not really, or hardly at all. They keep you on Oxycodone for a couple of days, but on leaving the hospital after 5 days, I pretty much felt nothing, except when I would stretch. You can't lift but 5 or 10 pounds the first month, because it puts pressure on the sternum. And for a couple months sleeping on your side will create a couple hours of such pressure the next day. But I'm now almost 4 months out of surgery and completely free of even that bruised feeling.
