  • What would the process be for simply adding an extra harddrive? could I simply ghost the existing drive to the other then run both without needing to reinstall op system?

  • @enigma02g - You can add the extra drive and then boot into windows and format etc - hence just use it as spare storage space. You need to reinstall if you want to use RAID.

  • I'm confused! Where can I find RAID drivers for vista 64 business with intel core duo processor?

Also what was that combination you typed to get in the matrix manager? Couldn't make it out...

    Thanx

  • @Sinner20002000 - RAID drivers are on the Dell website. The combo typed to enter the RAID manager is CTRL+I.

  • great video. i have m1730 and my two hard drives are dying. i was thinking of getting 2 Seagate moments 500GB hard drives 7200 rpm 2.5 (1TB total storage). Will that wok or is there a limitation on the amount of storage I can have? My original system comes with 2 200MB hard drives from DELL.

  • @tamtoomah - That should work fine.

  • Whats raid?

  • Hi I have an M1730 and the motherboard recently failed. I don't plan on replacing the motherboard but I want to recover the data from the drives. I have two drives in raid 0. Is the raid a hardware raid or a software raid? I'm planning to get an enclosure to put the drives into but I'm not sure what kind of enclosure I can use. Please help me out.

  • i have a harddrive from my hp pavillion computer that i want to add will that work , to use the one that came with this computer and the hp pavillion one ?

  • Thanks for this video, very helpfull.

  • THX , great video.

  • Thanks for the reply I've done it but is there any way to get rid of the matrix manager screen coming up every time you reboot?
