Honda K-series wouldn't touch the 3S-GTE. Plus the K-Series has no tourque in comparison. That would be a serioous downgrade.

WOW, that thing is a beast. I first saw this video a few months ago. I remember my first reaction to this videos was NO WAY! and then HOLY @#!$. It must be a handful to launch.

For real? this is a 5sfte? How much horsepower are you running? Is this a 3sgte that is bored to a 2.2L stroker kit? Or is this really a 5sfte? I have never seen a 5sfte beyond 300bhp which is why I asked. I was going to go with a 3rd gen 3sgte because I know for a fact those are upgradeable up to 900hp. I have a 6th gen celica that I am building to a GT-FOur and I plan on getting an MR2 this year which is why I asked.

Actually, it would be a serious upgrade, however with the 3s's racing heritage, it would be just wrong, and thats why i decided against doing it.
K's can make a shit load of TRQ if you do'em right.

This is no longer a world record !! The record was broken yesterday by Nathan Freke in the UK at Long Marston raceway. 9.722 @ 148.3 MPH !!! With more to come at TOTB at the end of July. The car Very likely has a 9.5 in it !!

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a stroked 3S-GTE motor...2.0l block bored over with the 2.2l crank and a good bit of work could easily do that. HYDE got a 10 something with that setup. Good run by any means
