  • my apple pie has layers of dough and thinly cut apples throughout. I think it's better that way, your apple pie is very good but it's quite traditional.

  • @Minimoy yes but then I am a traditional girl really....wedding in a church with a harp (the fact that we got a same sex wedding without our knowledge was not our doing....;)

  • @paulagloria you were barefoot though. But congratulations on the wedding, and also congratulations on having such a nice apple pie recipe and sharing it with the world, it was really yummy when I made it. I'm sure yours would probably be better though.

  • @Minimoy you made this pie? I wish you had videotaped it.....:(

  • @jcali619 yes but perhaps it was in the 1950's when they were pushing wesson oil,,,not sure if it came "from the old country"

  • @paulagloria Yes I apologize. I found an old cookbook and there is infact a pastry recipe using oil.

  • @jcali619 no I guarantee you Oma used the liquid oil. It also depends on good apples Gravensteins are the best - easier to find in CA almost impossible here in the Big Apple Itself.

  • I guarantee ya Bertha didn't use organic milk or oil. She used regular whole milk and probably lard or crisco.

  • Can I have some of this delicious apple pie I'm so hungryyyyy I LOVE APPLE PIE.. thank you momma is so sweeet God bless you all.
