in 1972 when Motown came out with the soundtrack for this, i had the album. my father worked for a small radio station and used to bring records home all the time for me and my brother and sister. i was only 7 at the time and didn't know a thing about the play. i do remember some of the music would make me cry, like the part at the end of this video where Pippin(William Katt) sings 'Rivers belong...'etc. it touched me and connected with me somehow at that young age.
