Guitar Edge Magazine's Elliott Politte goes backstage with legendary blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. He breaks down a killer riff so you guys can play it with ease.

If you haven't heard Joe Bonamassa before , please check him out at http://www.joebonamassa.com or visit our magazine at http://www.guitaredge.com.
Did we mention he was our Cover story in November 2009? Enjoy and Rock On! \m/

  • Joe is so mellow and humble, and those points of his character adds to his greatness. I have never seen in any of his videos the slightest display of snobbis arrogance that turns people off. He is a really easy going gentle type dude it appears. It still just blows me away to hear him talk, and then to hear him sing. If you never heard of him before and talked with him, you would never guess that he has the blues voice within him like he does. He can sing the blues as well as play it. GREAT

  • Joe is the best blues guitarist playing today!

  • @judoman5899 thanks a lot! :)

  • @tonictaster just keep practicing when i use to learn scale runs like these i would practice them real slow and then over time build it up, trust me youll be able to play this run like joe in a couple of weeks depnding on how much you practice

  • The best !! Ever !

  • @jayjaygibbs

if he's in the key of "G" then the mode will be the "G" Aeolian mode also known as the natural harmonic minor scale. Played as a pentatonic instead of diatonic, its basic the exact same shape as the minor pentatonic box 1. The difference is that its a major sound as opposed to the minor sound and the position of the root notes are different - so most licks played there will end on a different position to position to those played on the blues/minor scale box 1.

  • I've met Joe twice in Nash. He is the best since we lost Stevie-Ray!

  • howl long does this picking technique take to do reasonably well? i can only play it really slow right now. Help!

  • @dmbodeen no no no....best GUITARIST playing today, you just got to take away the blues part..although he is that too XD

  • great guy great guitar all round great vid

  • I love listening to how great Joe is when he is just plugged straight into a little amp (in this case a valve junior), no effects no switching between 4 amps. Just Joe and his great playing ability and charming personality.

    LOVE IT!!

  • Hey I love the white suits :)
